Jesse Willard "Pete" Carr was an American guitarist. He contributed to hit recordings by Joan Baez, Barbra Streisand, Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel, Luther Ingram, Bob Seger, Wilson Pickett, Rod Stewart, Boz Scaggs, Joe Cocker, Hank Williams, Jr. and many more over the past four decades.
Pete Carr also recorded and produced four solo albums and was half of the duet LeBlanc and Carr. Pete recorded extensively at FAME Recording Studio in Muscle Shoals, Alabama and Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Sheffield, Alabama. He was lead guitarist for the famed Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section.
Pete was selected posthumously to be inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in March 2023. He was inducted into the Florida Music Hall of Fame in 2020. He is also a 2019 inductee into the Southern Rock Hall of Fame and a 2008 inductee into the Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville, TN.
It was a great loss to the music community when Pete passed on June 27, 2020. He is dearly missed.
